Rob Funk – Educator, Maker, and Lifelong Learner
With over 24 years of experience in middle school education, Rob Funk is a passionate educator dedicated to inspiring curiosity, creativity, and craftsmanship in his students. For 16 years, Rob taught core science subjects including biology, physics, and earth sciences, where he introduced students to inquiry-based learning—encouraging them to ask questions, explore, and experiment. For the past 8 years, Rob has led the Innovation and Design Lab, also known as the Fab Lab, where he created a dynamic, problem-based learning environment. His mission has been to reintroduce hands-on building skills that many students have lost the chance to develop. In the Fab Lab, students not only design and build but also learn critical thinking and collaboration through real-world challenges.
