About me
Fred Gluck is a retired engineer with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mathematics and electrical engineering/computer science. He served in the Navy for five years and then worked in the computer industry for 20 years. He taught computer science at the University of Colorado (Denver) for five years, and taught computer science, mathematics, and electronics for the University of Colorado (Boulder)’s science outreach program (Science Discovery) for more than 25 years at elementary, middle, and high school levels, as well as professional development for teachers. In this program, he presented more than 1,000 workshops and assemblies to groups ranging from 20 to more than 250 participants, primarily in schools all around Colorado. He volunteered for more than 30 years in Boulder Valley schools teaching mathematics and computer science. He currently volunteers with the Julia Robinson Mathematics Festival Community Math Circle, which conducts monthly virtual math circles for K-12 students and adults, as well as occasional professional development for teachers. He has been teaching game design and computational thinking using AgentSheets software for about 20 years to students and teachers.
